Visitor Permits

Visitor permit information:

We offer good wild brown trout, sea trout and salmon fishing to non members by day or weekly ticket. Brown trout fishing is available on both The Bervie and Luther Waters 7 days a week, salmon and sea trout fishing Monday to Saturday only. By law here is no Sunday fishing permitted for migratory fish on Sundays in Scotland. As with all spate rivers salmon and sea trout fishing is entirely dependant on good water levels. Skilled anglers will find brown trout fishing can be good even at low water levels.

Maps of the extent of our fishing on both of these rivers can be downloaded here - see the panel on the right.

For information on seasons - see the panel on the right. The  association rules can be downloaded - see under top menu Information / LDAA Rules

Bait fishing is strictly prohibited on all LDAA waters. Fly and spinner only.

In common with all clubs, fishery owners and associations, it is a condition of permit sales that all anglers must read, understand and accept these rules paying special attention to the seasons and days fishing is permitted, restrictions on fishing methods and on killing fish. It is a criminal offence to fish for salmon or sea trout in Scotland without written permission.

The Salmon and Sea Trout season runs from 16th February to 31st October inclusive. The Brown Trout season runs from 15th March to 6th October inclusive.

Between 16th February and 31st May inclusive all salmon caught must be returned unharmed to the water furthermore anglers may only use single or double hooks and these must be barbless.

A single permit covers both of our waters, so you can fish the Bervie and The Luther on the same permit on the same day if you choose!
